Traffic in Southampton peaks between 08:00–09:30 and 16:00–18:30 on weekdays, with the A33 (The Avenue), A335 (Thomas Lewis Way), Bevois Valley Road and the Itchen Bridge approach seeing the heaviest flow. Once you are past your first few lessons we deliberately expose you to those conditions, at safe times, so nothing on your test day feels new.

Southampton has two DVSA practical test centres. Maybush Test Centre (Forster Road, SO16 4EW) covers routes through Redbridge, Millbrook, Shirley, Lordshill, Aldermoor and Rownhams, with a mix of 30, 40 and 60 mph roads and the busy Redbridge roundabout onto the A33. Forest Hills Test Centre (Hut Hill, Chandlers Ford, SO53 1SY) covers Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, Bishopstoke and Fair Oak with more rural NSL sections and unmarked crossroads.

We teach on both sets of routes at test pace, using the exact bays examiners use for the four DVSA manoeuvres, and finish every pre-test lesson with a full show-me / tell-me run-through.
